The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Raipur, a premier technical institute in India, invites applications for the position of Research Associate (RA) under the NRSC–ISRO funded project titled “Water Bodies Segmentation and Change Detection from Satellite Imagery Using Deep Learning Models.

Project Overview:
The selected candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of deep learning models aimed at accurately segmenting water bodies from satellite imagery and detecting temporal changes.

Position: Research Associate (RA)

Duration: The initial appointment will be for six months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project requirements. The maximum duration of the project may extend up to 24 months.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or a relevant discipline with specialization relevant to the project, OR

  • M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or a relevant discipline with minimum three years of research, teaching, or design and development experience and at least two research papers published in SCI/SCIE journals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement deep learning algorithms for satellite image analysis.

  • Perform segmentation and change detection of water bodies over different temporal scales.

Remuneration: Rs. 58,000 per month + HRA

Location: NIT Raipur, G.E. Road, Raipur, Chhattisgarh – 492010
