Organization Profile: The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032, West Bengal, India. It has a Governing Council with a number of members elected or nominated and the Registrar as its Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye Laws and as per the provisions of the relevant Act.

Essential qualification: PhD in Science. Candidates who have submitted PhD thesis, but yet to receive the degree are also eligible. But if selected, they will be receiving reduced fellowship (equivalent to SRF position) until the PhD degree certificate is submitted.
Desired past research experience: Past research experience in Organic synthesis, Donor-Acceptor Material Sciences, Self- Assembly of organic molecules, and related fields will be preferred.
Position Description- Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the post of Bridge Fellow/Research AssociateI in the group of Prof. Santanu Bhattacharya (PI), Prof. Somobrata Acharya (Co-PI), under the DST India-Czech project “Carbon-conjugated 2D-Covalent Organic Frameworks Based on
Alternative D-A-D/A-D-A Systems with Exceptional Optoelectronic Properties”. Name of the post: Bridge Fellow/Research Associate-I.
Tenure: This position is temporary till the date of project termination (27.12.2024).
Fellowship: As per rules of IACS.
Selection procedure: Applications will be shortlisted on the basis of past academic record, research publications, match of the past research expertise with desired requirements and other academic parameters, as decided by the selection committee. Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated via email and called for an interview for the final selection. Merely satisfying the essential qualification does not guarantee that a candidate will be shortlisted for interview. IACS holds the full right of choosing a candidate and even not selecting any, in case suitable applications are not received.
