The Delhi College of Engineering, known as Delhi Polytechnic, was founded in 1941 to meet the demand of the Indian industries for skilled technical labor with solid theoretical knowledge real-world experience. The organization was founded at the storied Kashmere Gate site in response to the 1938 Wood and Abott Committee report.
