Six of these started functioning back from the academic year 2008-09. These were established at Hyderabad, Gandhinagar, Rajasthan, Ropar, Patna and Bhubaneswar. IIT Indore and IIT Mandi started functioning from July 2009.

Designation:   Assistant Professor (Grade I & II)

Qualification: 

Assistant Professor Grade I:
(i) Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout.
(ii) Experience: Minimum three years of industrial/ research/ teaching experience, excluding, however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D.
(iii) Age: Maximum 35 years

Assistant Professor Grade II:
(i) Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout.
(ii) The position of Assistant Professor Grade II will be on contract basis.
(iii) Age: Maximum 32 years

Pay Scale:  

• Assistant Professor Grade I  1,01,500/- 1,81,320/-
• Assistant Professor Grade II  70,900/- 1,29,912/-
