About the Institute

The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Jais, Uttar Pradesh, was established by the Government of India under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG), through an Act of Parliament (54/2007). Declared as an “Institution of National Importance”, RGIPT is promoted by leading Oil PSUs (ONGC, IOCL, OIL, GAIL, BPCL, HPCL) with the support of OIDB.

RGIPT offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, and PhD programs at its Jais campus, with expansion centers such as:

  • Energy Institute Bengaluru (EIB), Karnataka – offering M.Tech and Ph.D.

  • Assam Energy Institute, Sivasagar – offering diploma and integrated dual degree programs.
