Satyendra Nath Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences (SNBNCBS), established in 1986, is an autonomous research institute funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. Located on a lush 15-acre campus in Salt Lake, Kolkata, the Centre is a hub for advanced research and education in Physical, Chemical, Biological, and Mathematical Sciences.
SNBNCBS hosts over 32 faculty members, 40+ postdoctoral fellows/scientists, and 200+ students, focusing on both theoretical and experimental sciences. The Centre also runs an Integrated Ph.D. and Post-M.Sc. Research Program in Physical Sciences.

Minimum Qualification (All Positions):

Ph.D. in Science / Applied Science / Engineering

Consistent first class or equivalent academic record

High-quality publications in peer-reviewed journals
Assistant Professor:

Age Limit: ≤ 40 years (Relaxable by 5 years for Govt. servants)

Experience: 8 years after Master’s degree (including Ph.D.) in R&D / Industry / Academic Institutions

Responsibilities:

Conduct independent and innovative research

Supervise Ph.D. students

Secure external research funding

Teach postgraduate and Ph.D. courses
