The idea of such a university emerged in 1949 following the Radhakrishnan University Education Commission’s recommendation to promote rural development through agricultural education. In 1954, an Indo-American team led by Dr. K.R. Damle, Vice-President of ICAR, proposed the establishment of a Rural University in India. This vision materialized with the formation of GBPUAT, which has since become a model for agricultural education, research, and extension across the nation.

Essential Qualification

M.Sc. (Agriculture) in Genetics & Plant Breeding from a recognized university/institute.

Candidates with relevant research experience in crop genetics and plant breeding will be preferred.
Emoluments / Fellowship
₹37,000/- per month (consolidated)
Duration
01 Month or till the completion of the project (may be extended depending on performance and project needs).
