Qualification & Eligibility Criteria

Essential Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in the relevant discipline (mandatory for all new entrants).

  • First Class in all preceding degrees (Bachelor’s degree onward).

  • If First Class is not explicitly mentioned, candidates must have:

    • ≥ 6.5 CGPA (10-point scale) OR

    • ≥ 60% aggregate marks.

  • No conversion of CGPA/percentage allowed unless officially certified by the university.

  • Degrees from foreign universities must be from National Universities or institutions ranked in Top 500 in QS/THE World Rankings (last two years).

  • Candidates with Ph.D. directly after B.Tech/B.E. may also apply, provided First Class is obtained at the UG level.

Note: “New Entrant” refers to candidates who are not existing faculty of NIT Jamshedpur.
