Mewar University is a self-financed university established under the Mewar University Act, 2009 by the Government of Rajasthan. The university is recognized under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956, and is empowered to award Degree, Diploma, and Certification programs under Section 22(1) of the UGC Act.

The university is NAAC accredited with Grade ‘A’ and approved by all relevant Statutory Regulatory Authorities, including AICTE, PCI, BCI, and NCTE. It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
