Adjunct Professor – Physics

 About the Role

Our client, a distinguished university in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Adjunct Professor of Physics to teach undergraduate-level courses. This part-time position supports the university’s academic mission by delivering expert instruction and fostering an engaging, high-quality learning environment.

The selected candidate will play a vital role in strengthening science education through effective teaching, curriculum support, and student mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate discussions for undergraduate Physics courses, including:

    • Introductory Mechanics

    • Electromagnetism

    • Thermodynamics

    • Modern Physics

  • Develop and update course syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials aligned with current scientific and pedagogical standards

  • Design and administer assignments, quizzes, examinations, and laboratory exercises

  • Provide timely, constructive feedback on student performance

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic progress

  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and scientific inquiry

  • Hold regular office hours for academic guidance and student support

  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues on curriculum development and program assessment

  • Stay current with advancements in Physics research and applications and integrate them into teaching

  • Potentially supervise undergraduate research projects or capstone experiences

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field from an accredited institution

  • Prior university-level teaching experience in Physics is highly desirable

  • Strong knowledge of core undergraduate Physics concepts

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to engage students from diverse academic backgrounds

  • Proficiency in educational technologies and Learning Management Systems (LMS)

  • Commitment to pedagogical excellence and student success

  • Availability to teach assigned courses, including on-campus and potential online/hybrid modes

  • Passion for Physics and enthusiasm for inspiring future scientists

  • Relevant research or industry experience in Physics is an added advantage
