National Institute of Design (NID), Assam is an autonomous Institution of National Importance under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

Established at Jorhat through the NID Act, 2014 and NID (Amendment) Act, 2019, NID Assam is mandated to provide high-quality Design Education and award the Bachelor’s Degree in Design (B.Des).

 Qualifications Required

1. Candidates with:

   • UG degree with a minimum of 7 years of full-time experience
     OR

   • PG degree with a minimum of 5 years of full-time experience
     in industry and/or academics.

2. Either the UG or PG degree must be in Design.

3. Entrepreneurs / Freelancers must submit:

   • IT returns for the last three consecutive years

   • Company registration certificate (mandatory)

4. Any break in service should be clearly justified with valid reasons.
