Qualifications

A. General Eligibility (for most disciplines)

  1. Master’s Degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the relevant discipline from a recognized Indian or foreign university.

  2. NET / SLET / SET qualified or Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2009 / 2016.

  3. Ph.D. candidates registered prior to 11 July 2009 are exempted from NET/SLET/SET subject to UGC conditions regarding evaluation, publications, and presentations.

  4. NET/SLET/SET not required for disciplines where these examinations are not conducted.

OR

B. Foreign Ph.D.

  • Ph.D. obtained from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 universities worldwide (QS / THE / ARWU).

For Engineering Departments

(Computer Science & Engineering / Energy Engineering / Metallurgical & Materials Engineering)

  • B.E./B.Tech/B.S. and M.E./M.Tech/M.S./Integrated M.Tech in the relevant branch with First Class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.
