Job Description

The Assistant/Associate Professor in Sports Science, Technology, and Medical Sciences will contribute to the advancement of interdisciplinary education and research at the intersection of human performance, health sciences, biomechanics, data analytics, and emerging technologies.

The role requires excellence in teaching, research, and academic service, with a focus on evidence-based practice, applied research, and collaboration with industry, healthcare institutions, and high-performance sport environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching and Academic Delivery

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in areas such as:

  • Exercise physiology

  • Biomechanics

  • Sports medicine fundamentals

  • Performance analytics

  • Sports technology and wearables

  • Rehabilitation and injury prevention

• Develop innovative, technology-enabled teaching methodologies.

• Supervise UG & PG research projects.

• Contribute to curriculum design aligned with international accreditation standards.

2. Research and Scholarly Activity

• Conduct high-quality research in:

  • Human performance optimization

  • Sports analytics & predictive modelling

  • Rehabilitation science

  • Biomechanics & movement science

  • AI and technology in sport & health

• Publish in peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus/Web of Science.

• Secure research funding through grants and industry partnerships.

• Contribute to interdisciplinary research initiatives.

3. Industry & Clinical Engagement

• Develop collaborations with:

  • Sports organizations & academies

  • Healthcare institutions

  • Rehabilitation centers

  • Wearable & performance tech companies

• Facilitate internships and field-based learning.

• Support athlete performance monitoring programs.

4. Academic Administration & Service

• Participate in academic committees.

• Support accreditation & quality assurance.

• Mentor students and assist in academic advising.

• Contribute to development of research labs & performance centers.

Qualifications

Essential

• PhD in Sports Science / Exercise Science / Kinesiology / Sports Medicine / Biomedical Sciences or related field

• University-level teaching experience

• Evidence of research publications or strong research potential

• Strong analytical & interdisciplinary orientation

Desirable

• Experience with:

  • Performance analytics software

  • Biomechanics / motion capture systems
