The Central University of Odisha was established by the Parliament of India under the Central Universities Act, 2009. It is one of the 15 new Central Universities created by the Government of India during the UGC XI Plan period to improve access to quality higher education in educationally backward regions.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

1. B.Sc. Agriculture degree from a recognized University / Institute with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.

2. Master’s Degree in relevant Agricultural discipline with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade from a recognized Indian or foreign University.

3. Candidates must have qualified NET conducted by CSIR / ICAR / UGC / SLET / SET or similar tests accredited by UGC.

4. Candidates who have been awarded Ph.D. in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009 / 2016 / 2022 are exempted from NET.

Candidates registered for Ph.D. prior to 11 July 2009 may also be exempted from NET subject to conditions such as:

• Ph.D. awarded in regular mode

• Thesis evaluated by external examiners

• Open Ph.D. viva conducted

• At least two research papers published

• At least two conference presentations based on Ph.D. research

Certification must be provided by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) of the concerned university.

Selected candidates will be paid an honorarium of ₹1500 per lecture, subject to a maximum of ₹50,000 per month.
