Qualification

Qualifications will be as per UGC / Government of India regulations.

Essential Qualification

  • Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks in the relevant or allied subject from a recognized Indian or foreign university.

In addition, candidates must have:

  • Cleared NET / SLET / SET conducted by UGC / CSIR
    OR

  • Ph.D. degree as per UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D.) Regulations 2009 / 2016

Ph.D. Exemption Conditions

Candidates registered for Ph.D. before 11 July 2009 may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET if:

  • Ph.D. degree awarded in regular mode

  • Thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners

  • Open Ph.D. viva voce conducted

  • Two research papers published, with at least one in a refereed journal

  • Two conference papers presented based on Ph.D. research

These conditions must be certified by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) of the awarding university.

Foreign Ph.D. Qualification

Candidates with a Ph.D. from foreign universities ranked within the top 500 in global rankings such as:

  • Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)

  • Times Higher Education (THE)

  • Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU)

may also be considered.

Pay Scale

  • Academic Pay Level – 10

  • Salary Range: ₹57,700 – ₹1,82,400
