Ramanujan College, inspired by the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Aiyangar Ramanujan, is a prestigious institution under the University of Delhi. The college follows the core values of dedication, perseverance, and truth reflected in the University’s motto “Nistha, Dhriti, Satyam.”

The college was originally established in 1958 by the Ministry of Rehabilitation, Government of India, as Deshbandhu College (Evening) in memory of freedom fighter Lala Deshbandhu Gupta. In 2010, the college was renamed Ramanujan College, and in 2012 it became a full-fledged day college. Ramanujan College is fully funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has been maintained by the University of Delhi since 1972.
