The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) was established by the Government of Assam under the National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam Act, 2009. Later, the institution was renamed as a University through the National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam (Amendment) Act, 2012. The Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court serves as the Chancellor of the University. NLUJAA is dedicated to promoting modern legal education, research, and training for students and scholars from across India, particularly from the North-East region, fostering an inclusive and diverse academic environment.
