Job Title: Professor Cum Director – School of Interdisciplinary Sciences (IDSC)
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Strategic & Academic Leadership
- Develop and implement the vision, mission, and strategic roadmap of the School
- Align academic offerings with NEP 2020, UGC regulations, and industry requirements
- Promote interdisciplinary education integrating science, technology, humanities, and applied domains
2. Academic Planning & Program Development
- Design and introduce innovative interdisciplinary programmes and specializations
- Ensure Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and skill-oriented curriculum
- Benchmark programmes with leading national and international institutions
3. Research, Innovation & Consultancy
- Establish a strong research ecosystem within the School
- Promote interdisciplinary research collaborations
- Facilitate:
- Funded projects (UGC, DST, AICTE, Industry)
- Patents, publications, and consultancy assignments
- Encourage incubation, startups, and applied research initiatives
4. Faculty Leadership & Development
- Lead recruitment, mentoring, and performance management of faculty
- Encourage Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and research engagement
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance academic culture
5. Student Development & Outcomes
- Ensure holistic student development through:
- Experiential and project-based learning
- Industry exposure and interdisciplinary projects
- Strengthen placements, internships, and career readiness initiatives
6. Industry & Institutional Collaboration
- Establish partnerships with:
- Industry organizations
- Research institutions
- International universities
- Facilitate live projects, guest lectures, and joint programmes
7. Governance, Compliance & Administration
- Ensure compliance with:
- UGC, NAAC, and other statutory bodies
- Lead accreditation, audits, and inspections
- Oversee:
- Academic scheduling
- Budgeting and resource allocation
- Policy implementation
8. Interdisciplinary Integration
- Promote cross-departmental collaboration and co-teaching models
- Enable problem-solving approaches addressing real-world challenges
- Develop flexible credit systems and modular learning pathways
9. Outreach & Institutional Branding
- Represent the University in academic and industry forums
- Organize conferences, seminars, and innovation events
- Enhance the School’s national and international visibility
10. Additional Responsibilities
- Mentor faculty and students
- Contribute to university-level committees and strategic initiatives
- Perform duties assigned by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor / Management
