The Department of Chinese and Tibetan Languages was established in 1964 under the name Central Asian Studies and was renamed in 2003. The department offers Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma programmes in Chinese and Tibetan languages and provides research guidance in Chinese Language/Studies and Tibetan Language/Studies. The department plays a significant role in promoting language learning, cultural understanding, and academic research in Chinese and Tibetan studies.

Teaching Responsibilities

The selected candidate will teach:

  • Certificate Course in Chinese
  • Diploma Course in Chinese
  • Advanced Diploma Course in Chinese

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in:
    • Chinese Language
    • Chinese Literature
    • Allied Discipline

from an Indian University or an accredited foreign university.

Relaxation

  • A relaxation of 5% marks is available for:
    • SC Candidates
    • ST Candidates
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates
    • PwD Candidates

Additional Eligibility

Candidates should have:

  • Cleared UGC/CSIR NET, or
  • SET/SLET or equivalent accredited examination.

OR

  • Possess a Ph.D. degree awarded in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016, which exempts candidates from the NET/SET requirement.

Salary Details

  • ₹1,500 per lecture
  • Maximum monthly remuneration: ₹50,000

Selected candidates must submit an undertaking stating that they are not receiving any fellowship, stipend, scholarship, or financial assistance from any other agency during their tenure as Guest Faculty.
