Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), Surat, has been a leading institution of higher education since its establishment, serving the educational and developmental needs of South Gujarat. Established under the South Gujarat University Act, 1965, and functioning since 1966, the university was formally incorporated on 23 May 1967 and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 1968.
Spread across a 210-acre campus in Surat, the university was renamed in 2004 in honor of the renowned Gujarati poet Narmadshankar Lalshankar Dave (Narmad). VNSGU is accredited by NAAC and continues to contribute significantly to education, research, innovation, culture, business, technology, and community development across the region.

Essential Qualifications
Assistant Librarian
- Master’s Degree in Library Science, Information Science, or Documentation Science with at least 55% marks.
- NET/SLET/SET qualification, or
- Ph.D. exemption as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016.
Technical Assistant (Bioscience)
- M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, or allied disciplines, or
- B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering with two years of experience in maintenance of sophisticated instruments.
Technician ‘A’ (USIC)
- B.E./B.Tech. or Diploma in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or ICT.
- Diploma holders must possess two years of relevant experience.
Technician ‘B’ (USIC)
- B.E./B.Tech. or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Diploma holders must possess two years of relevant experience.
Driver
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC).
- Valid Driving License.
- Minimum five years of driving experience.
Cook-Khansama
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or Diploma in Cooking.
- Minimum three years of experience in a reputed institution, hotel, restaurant, or similar establishment.

Fixed Salary Provision
For Technician ‘A’, Technician ‘B’, Driver, and Cook-Khansama posts:
- Fixed salary of ₹26,000 per month for the first five years.
- Thereafter, regular pay scale benefits as per applicable rules.
