Tezpur University has released Advertisement No. 13/2026 inviting applications from eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professor (Contractual) in the Department of Foreign Languages. The appointment will initially be for 11 months, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should satisfy either of the following eligibility conditions prescribed by the UGC:
Option A
- Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in the concerned, relevant, or allied subject from a recognized Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
- Must have qualified UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, SLET, or SET.
- Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 are exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement, subject to fulfilling the prescribed conditions.
Option B
- Ph.D. degree from a foreign university ranked among the Top 500 Universities in QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education (THE), or Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU/Shanghai Ranking).
Desirable Qualifications
- Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
- Excellent teaching and communication skills in Chinese or German language.
- Relevant teaching and research experience.
- Ability to contribute to academic and research activities of the department.
Salary
Selected candidates will receive a fixed consolidated monthly remuneration of ₹80,000.
