The Department of Chemical Engineering has invited applications from eligible Indian citizens for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India funded research project. This project focuses on the development of AI-driven sustainable technologies for pharmaceutical wastewater treatment and offers an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in environmental engineering, membrane technology, biotechnology, and AI-based process optimization.

The appointment is initially for the project duration and will continue subject to project funding and satisfactory performance.
Essential Qualifications
Candidates should possess any one of the following qualifications:
Option 1
M.E./M.Tech in any of the following disciplines:
- Chemical Engineering
- Chemical Technology
- Biotechnology
- Nanotechnology
- Mechanical Engineering
- Biochemistry
- Environmental Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Bioprocess Engineering
- Microbiology
- Allied disciplines
with a minimum 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks from a recognized Institute/University.
OR
M.Sc. in:
- Biotechnology
- Chemistry
- Environmental Science
- Microbiology
- Biochemistry
- Nanotechnology
along with a valid NET/GATE score and minimum 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks.
Candidates qualified through other National Level Examinations conducted by Central Government departments/agencies such as DST, DBT, IITs, IISc, IISERs, etc., are also eligible.
Desirable Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates having:
- Research experience in membrane-driven wastewater treatment technology or related fields.
- Research publications in reputed journals.
- Valid NET/GATE qualification.
- Strong research aptitude in environmental and chemical engineering.
Selected candidates must register for the Ph.D. programme under this project.
Fellowship
The selected candidate will receive:
- First & Second Year: ₹37,000 per month + HRA (as per DST/Institute norms)
- Third Year: ₹42,000 per month + HRA (as per DST/Institute norms)
Accommodation
On-campus accommodation may be provided subject to availability.
If institute accommodation is allotted, HRA will not be admissible.
