Project Title
“Reproductive biology and conservation assessment of Paris spp. for sustainable utilization and habitat restoration in Mizoram, North East India”
Essential Qualification
Candidates should possess a Postgraduate degree in a relevant branch of:
- Biological Science
- Plant Science
- Horticulture
- Medicinal and Aromatic Plants
- Botany
- Forestry
- Environmental Science
Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Desirable Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Relevant research publications
- Previous research experience
- Fieldwork experience related to plant science, conservation or biodiversity
Job Responsibilities
The selected Project Associate-I will be involved in:
- Field visits across Mizoram for sample collection
- Population assessment of target species
- Taxonomical studies
- In-situ and ex-situ multiplication
- Recording phenological and reproductive parameters
- Interaction with local villagers regarding cultivation
- Preparation and publication of research papers
- Other project-related research activities
Candidates should be willing to undertake extensive fieldwork and travel within Mizoram.
Salary / Stipend
- NET/GATE Qualified: ₹31,000 + 9% HRA per month
- Without NET/GATE: ₹25,000 + 9% HRA per month
Nature of Appointment
The appointment is purely temporary and will be governed by DBT and Mizoram University rules. The position is specifically associated with the DBT-funded research project.
