Guest Faculty Vacancy
The University of Hyderabad is recruiting for the position of:
Post: Guest Faculty
School: School of Medical Science
Employment Type: Temporary
The position is focused on teaching in the area of Optometry and Vision Sciences, with eligibility also provided for candidates having a Physics background and teaching experience in Optics.
Essential Educational Qualification
Candidates should possess a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Optometry or Optometry & Vision Sciences with:
- At least 55% marks, along with a good academic record; or
- An equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed.
- The degree should be from a recognized Indian university or an accredited foreign university.
In addition to the above qualification, candidates must satisfy one of the additional eligibility conditions specified in the advertisement.
Additional Eligibility – Option 1
Candidates may possess a Ph.D. in Optometry / Optometry & Vision Sciences awarded in accordance with the applicable UGC regulations.
A Ph.D. obtained from a foreign university/institution is also acceptable where the institution is ranked within the top 500 universities globally, at any time, by any one of the following internationally recognized ranking agencies:

Additional Eligibility – Option 2
Candidates may possess a minimum of three years of post-Master’s professional experience in:
- Teaching; and/or
- Clinical practice
The experience should be in the field of Optometry and Vision Sciences and obtained in a recognized:

- Teaching hospital
- Clinical training centre
Additional Eligibility – Option 3
