The Defence Institute of Biodefence Technologies (DIBT), Mysore, functions under the aegis of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

DIBT, Mysore is responsible for research and development activities related to the detection of food-borne pathogens and toxins of biodefence importance, as well as research related to military nutrition.

The institute invites applications from young, talented and motivated Indian nationals possessing the requisite qualifications and interested in pursuing defence-related research as Research Associates (RA) and Junior Research Fellows (JRF).

Vacancy Details

Post Qualification Stipend
Junior Research Fellow (JRF) M.Sc. / M.Tech. ₹37,000/- + HRA per month
Research Associate (RA) Ph.D. in relevant field ₹67,000/- + HRA per month

1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Essential Qualification

Candidates applying for the JRF position should possess either of the following:

  • Post Graduate Degree (M.Sc.) in First Division from a recognized University/Institute with a valid NET/GATE score.
  • Post Graduate Degree (M.Tech.) in First Division.

Candidates should possess the prescribed qualification from a recognized university or institute.

2. Research Associate (RA)

Essential Qualification

Candidates applying for the Research Associate position should possess:

  • Ph.D. in Food Processing Engineering, or
  • Ph.D. in Food Engineering & Technology, or
  • Ph.D. in Food Engineering.

Desirable Qualification

Preference will be given to candidates having relevant experience in:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Machine Learning (ML)
  • Simulation tools
  • Relevant research and technology applications

Candidates with relevant research experience in the specified areas may be considered for preference as per the recruitment requirements.

Salary / Stipend

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

₹37,000/- per month + HRA

Research Associate (RA)

₹67,000/- per month + HRA

The stipend and HRA will be provided as per the applicable rules and terms of the engagement.
