Department-wise Vacancies

The Assistant Professor positions cover the following departments and core specializations:

• Information Technology (IT): Information Technology or Computer Science & Engineering
• Computer Science & Engineering (CSE): Computer Science & Engineering or Information Technology
• Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE): Electronics and/or Communication Engineering
• Engineering Sciences (ES): Computer Science & Engineering / Scientific Computing
• Management Studies (MS): Management, AI & Business Intelligence

Educational Qualification

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline with first class in all preceding degrees from graduation onwards, or at least 6.5 CGPA/CPI on a 10-point scale or 60% marks in aggregate where first class is not explicitly mentioned.

At least one degree from graduation onwards should be from IISc, IITs, IIITs, NITs, IIMs, ISI or IISERs, or the candidate should currently be working in a regular pay scale at one of these institutes. The advertisement also specifies provisions for eligible foreign degrees.

An inbreeding restriction applies: candidates awarded a Ph.D. by ABV-IIITM Gwalior within three years of the application closing date are not eligible.

Experience Required

Candidates should have:

• 3 years of experience after Ph.D., or
• 6 years of total experience after M.Tech., excluding the Ph.D. enrolment period.
• Two SCI-journal papers outside Ph.D. work.
• One ongoing sponsored project for candidates from academia.
• Two experiments or computational projects added to teaching laboratories, wherever applicable.

Part-time, daily-wage, visiting/guest faculty and purely contractual experience will not be counted.

Age Limit

Fresh appointments beyond 35 years are discouraged, except for candidates with an exceptionally strong research career and an ongoing or approved externally funded research project.

Salary / Pay Scale

Pay Level 12: ₹1,01,500 – ₹1,67,400

Applicable benefits include DA, HRA, medical reimbursement, Leave Travel Concession and other benefits as per Institute Rules. The New Pension Scheme applies to fresh recruits.

Selection Process

Selection will involve:

1. Screening by a Screening Committee.
2. Phase 1: Presentation on teaching and research.
3. Phase 2: Interview by the Selection Committee.
