Educational Qualifications and Experience

1. Professor – Academic Level 14A

  • Ph.D. with 10 years of experience, including at least 4 years as an Associate Professor.
  • First-class Master’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade and a consistently good academic record.
  • Research publications meeting the specified ABDC/ABS journal criteria, indexed in Web of Science (WOS) or Scopus.
  • A book published by a reputed publisher is preferred.
  • A case study with a teaching note published by Harvard Case Publishing, Richard Ivey or Emerald is preferred.
  • Preference for candidates who have guided at least two FPM/Ph.D. scholars.
  • Experience with AACSB/AMBA-BGA/EFMD-EQUIS-accredited institutions is preferred.

2. Associate Professor – Academic Level 13A2

  • Ph.D. with six years of experience, including three years of post-Ph.D. experience as an Assistant Professor or equivalent.
  • Alternatively, eligible industry candidates from Government, PSU or research organizations with six years of experience at an equivalent level may apply.
  • First-class Master’s degree with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade.
  • Research publications meeting the specified ABDC/ABS journal requirements, indexed in WOS or Scopus.
  • A reputed book, published case study with teaching note and Ph.D./FPM supervision experience are preferred.

3. Assistant Professor – Grade I, Academic Level 13A1

  • Ph.D. with five years of experience, including three years of post-Ph.D. experience as an Assistant Professor or equivalent.
  • Alternatively, eligible candidates from Government, PSU or research organizations with five years of experience at an equivalent level may apply.
  • First-class Master’s degree with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade.
  • Minimum research publications as specified in the recruitment notification, indexed in WOS or Scopus.
  • Teaching cases, books, research supervision and experience at internationally accredited institutions are preferred.

4. Assistant Professor – Academic Level 12

  • Ph.D. with three years of experience, excluding Ph.D. research experience.
  • Alternatively, eligible candidates from Government, PSU or research organizations with three years of experience at an equivalent level may apply.
  • First-class Master’s degree with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade.
  • Minimum research publications as specified in the notification, indexed in WOS or Scopus.
  • Candidates with a strong academic profile may be considered for contractual appointments even if they do not meet certain research publication or experience requirements.

5. Assistant Professor – Grade II, Academic Level 11

  • Ph.D. in the appropriate discipline with more than one year of post-Ph.D. experience.
  • Alternatively, eligible candidates from Government, PSU or research organizations with more than one year of equivalent post-Ph.D. experience may apply.
  • First-class Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees with at least 60% marks or equivalent grades.
  • First-class marks or equivalent grades in Class X and Class XII.
  • At least two ABDC-B/ABS-3 publications or one ABDC-A/ABS-4 publication, indexed in WOS or Scopus.
  • A case study with teaching notes and experience at accredited institutions are preferred.

6. Assistant Professor – Grade II, Academic Level 10

  • Fresh Ph.D. in the appropriate discipline with less than one year of post-Ph.D. experience, excluding Ph.D. research experience.
  • Candidates who have completed their viva voce and received provisional Ph.D. award status may also apply.
  • First-class Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees with at least 60% marks or equivalent grades.
  • First-class marks or equivalent grades in Class X and Class XII.
  • At least one publication in an ABDC-B/ABS-3 journal indexed in WOS or Scopus is mandatory. Two or more such publications are desirable.

Relaxation: The notification specifies relaxations in minimum Master’s or Bachelor’s degree marks for certain reserved categories. Applicants should refer to the official advertisement for the exact category-wise provisions.

7. Professor / Associate Professor of Practice

  • Minimum 20 years of substantial experience in industry or government.
  • Demonstrated domain expertise, professional impact and potential to contribute to teaching programmes, particularly Leadership Development Programmes.
  • A Ph.D. is desirable but not mandatory if the candidate demonstrates substantial field-based expertise.
  • Appointments are initially for two years and may be renewed up to a maximum of five years, subject to performance and approval.
  • Retirement age: 65 years.
  • Compensation is equivalent to that of a regular Professor or Associate Professor, depending on the position.
