About Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University
Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (APAU) was established on 12 June 1964 at Hyderabad and formally inaugurated on 20 March 1965 by the then Prime Minister of India, Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri. The university’s building programme was inaugurated on 23 June 1966 by the then Prime Minister, Late Smt. Indira Gandhi.
On 7 November 1996, the university was renamed Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University in honour of Acharya Nayakulu Gogineni Ranga, an eminent parliamentarian, educationist, farmers’ leader, and freedom fighter.

Essential Qualifications

- Master’s Degree: Master’s degree in the relevant subject.
- Bachelor’s Degree: Four- or five-year Bachelor’s degree with first division or an equivalent overall grade point average.
- Experience: At least three years of relevant teaching or research experience, supported by evidence of fellowship, associateship, training, or other engagements.
- Research Publications: At least one research paper published in a Science Citation Index (SCI), NAAS-rated journal with a rating of 4.0 or above, Scopus-indexed journal, Web of Science-indexed journal, or UGC CARE-listed journal.
