Hiring Institute: Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission

Organization Profile: The 25th of January, 1971 saw the statehood of Himachal Pradesh. Before this date, the Union Public Service Commission was carrying out the duties of the Public Service Commission under Article 315 of the Indian Constitution with regard to the civil services and posts related to the Union Territory of Himachal Pradesh. Therefore, the State was required to establish its own Public Service Commission. However, since the creation of a State Public Service Commission could occur concurrently with the achievement of Statehood, the Union Public Service Commission agreed to support Himachal Pradesh’s needs until a Public Service Commission was established in response to a request from the state’s governor and approval from the Indian president.
