Organisation Profile: Navodaya Vidyalayas are run by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Education (MoE)(formerly the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) (1985–2020) ), Department of School Education and Literacy, Govt. of India.The Minister of Education serves as the chairman of the executive committee, which is how the Samiti is run. The executive committee has the authority to use all of the Samiti’s powers and is in charge of overseeing all matters, including the distribution of cash. The Academic Advisory Committee and the Finance Committee are its two subcommittees.The Commissioner, who carries out the directives provided by the Samiti executive committee, is the executive head of the administrative pyramid. Joint Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and Assistant Commissioners support him or her at the headquarters level. Additionally, some schools have a Vidhyalaya Coordination Committee to oversee academic performance.
