A.D.M. College for Women (Autonomous) was established in 1975 during the International Women’s Year with the noble mission of uplifting the women of Nagapattinam and surrounding coastal regions. Founded by Thiru A.D. Jeyaveerapandian and brothers under the Natarajan Dhamayanthi Educational Society, the institution is affiliated with Bharathidasan University.
The college has been re-accredited with an “A” Grade by NAAC in 2004, 2011, 2017, and 2023 and is recognized under the UGC PARAMARSH Scheme for mentoring other higher education institutions. In 2023, it was selected under the DBT STAR College Scheme for departments including Botany, Biochemistry, Marine Food Processing, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Zoology.
