Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University was originally established as Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (APAU) on 12th June 1964 at Hyderabad and formally inaugurated on 20th March 1965 by Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, former Prime Minister of India.

The University was renamed Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University on 7th November 1996 in memory of Acharya Nayakulu Gogineni Ranga, a legendary freedom fighter, parliamentarian, educationist, and farmer leader. The university plays a vital role in agricultural education, research, and extension services in Andhra Pradesh.

Qualification Requirements

Candidates must satisfy the following:

a) Ph.D. in the relevant subject
OR
b) Master’s Degree in the relevant subject

Additionally:
c) Bachelor’s degree of 4 / 5 years with First Division or equivalent OGPA
d) Minimum 3 years of teaching / research experience (Fellowship / Associateship / Training / Engagements)
e) At least one research paper published in SCI / NAAS rated (≥ 4.0) journal
f) Candidates with PG degree in Basic Sciences (3-year UG + 2-year PG) must have NET qualification

Duration of the Post

  • 11 months from the date of joining or till filling up of regular post, whichever is earlier

Remuneration

  • ₹61,000 + HRA per month – for Master’s Degree holders

  • ₹67,000 + HRA per month – for Ph.D Degree holders
