Job Title:

Associate Professor – Architecture & Planning

Job Description:

The Associate Professor will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Architecture and/or Planning, guide design studios and research projects, and contribute to curriculum development. The role includes conducting research, publishing in reputed journals, supervising postgraduate students, and participating in academic administration.

The Associate Professor is also expected to engage with professional bodies, industry, and community initiatives, with minimum 8+ years of teaching and/or research experience as per regulatory or institutional norms.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Duties

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Architecture and/or Planning

  • Develop and update course content aligned with current industry practices and accreditation standards

  • Guide students in design studios, research projects, theses, and dissertations

  • Apply innovative teaching methods including studio-based learning, digital tools, and interdisciplinary approaches

  • Evaluate student performance through assessments, reviews, and examinations

Research & Scholarly Activities

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research in architecture, urban planning, or related fields

  • Publish research in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and books

  • Secure research funding, grants, or consultancy projects

  • Supervise postgraduate research scholars (Master’s and PhD)

  • Contribute to the department’s research profile and academic impact

Qualifications Required

  • PhD in Architecture, Urban Planning, or a closely related discipline

  • Master’s degree in Architecture / Planning (as applicable)

  • Minimum 8+ years of teaching and/or research experience

  • Strong record of academic research and quality publications

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and student mentorship
