Organization Profile: Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, in 1916, through close cooperation with great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was established by the Parliamentary legislation-B.H.U. Act 1915.
Designation: Raja Jwala Prasad Post-Doctoral Fellowship
Position Type: The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Fellowship Amount of Rs. 60,000/-pm and HRA of Rs. 10,000/- per month, sanctioned under the Institution of Eminence (IoE) Scheme of BHU for one year. In addition, a contingency amount of Rs. 50,000/- per annum will be provided. Fellows will also have access to comprehensive benefits, including health services, a library and access to other resources, as per BHU rules.
Essential Qualification: The candidates should have PhD degree (Agronomy/Soil Science/Environmental /Life Science with preference in soil organic carbon) from an Indian University/Institutes with a NIRF ranking of up to 20 (overall or in respective areas) or those who have done PhD from abroad will be eligible. The candidates must have a proven track record with published work in at least two papers in Q1 or Q2 journals or SCOPUS/Web of Science listed journals. The upper Age Limit is 45 Years (5 years relaxation for Female/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped Candidates). All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules.
Desirable Qualification: Candidates with research experience in soil organic carbon, soil organic matter, atmosphere CO2 and GHGs with evidence of original research publications as leading authors in Q1 journals will be preferred.
