The Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), formerly known as Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology, was established in 1968 by the Government of India with assistance from the UNDP. CIPET focuses on developing skilled manpower in Plastics and Polymer Engineering & Technology.

CIPET Kochi, officially Institute of Petrochemicals Technology (IPT), is a specialized institute providing technical education, research, and training in polymer and allied disciplines. It is committed to preparing industry-ready professionals for the petrochemicals and polymer sector.

Available Positions & Eligibility

1. Assistant Professor (Polymer)

  • Qualification: Full-time First Class BE/BTech and ME/MTech in Polymer/Plastics; Ph.D. preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience.

  • Salary: ₹35,000 – ₹40,000 p.m.

2. Lecturer

  • Mathematics / Computer Science / Mechanical

  • Qualification: Full-time Master’s (or M.E/M.Tech for preference), First Class at Bachelors/Masters. Ph.D. desirable.

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year teaching experience in Polytechnic/Engineering Colleges.

  • Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹35,000 p.m.

3. Assistant Placement Consultant

  • Qualification: Graduate in any discipline (2 years’ experience) OR MBA (HRM/PM) with 1 year experience.

  • Salary: ₹35,000/- (consolidated)

4. Instructor (Skill Development)

  • Qualification: First Class BE/BTech (Electrical) – 1 year experience OR First Class Diploma (Electrical) – 3 years experience.

  • Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹30,000 p.m.
