The history of the place dates back to year 1905, when Agricultural Research Institute and College, Pusa was first established by the British Government in light of the recurring food scarcity in the country. In its current role, the university extends its jurisdiction and responsibility in the fields of teaching, research, and extension in context of agriculture and allied sciences to the whole country with special reference to the State of Bihar.

Pay Scale:
Rs. 31,000/- per month + HRA consolidated for 1st and 2nd year
Rs. 35,000/- per month + HRA consolidated for 3rd years
