Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering (Fr.CRCE), which is situated in a beautiful setting in the center of Mumbai. Founded in 1957 in Bandra, Mumbai, the Agnel Ashram started out as a carpentry trade school and an orphanage (Bal Bhavan) and has now expanded into a full-fledged Technical Complex. As a fitting homage to his passionate belief in highly educated and completely trained engineers and technicians serving the country, the Institute proudly bears the founder’s name today.
In 1984, the Institute offered just one Production Engineering program, with a maximum enrollment of 60 students. With a 60-student maximum, the Electronics Engineering program began in 1987. The Computer Engineering program followed in 1991 with a 60-student maximum. The Information Technology program began in 2001 with a 30 student maximum, then in 2010 that number was raised to 60. In 2005, the college began to offer master’s degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering, with a maximum enrollment of 18 students in each field. Electronics engineering and mechanical engineering doctoral programs started in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
