Department Overview

The Department of Microbial Biotechnology is a dynamic center for teaching and research, focusing on the application of microbiological principles and biotechnological tools to address contemporary challenges in health, agriculture, and the environment.

Essential Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Microbial Biotechnology, or an allied subject with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).

  • A relaxation of 5% is provided for candidates belonging to SC/ST/Differently-abled/OBC (Non-creamy Layer) categories and for Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991.

  • Mandatory Requirement: Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

  • NET Exemption: Candidates with a Ph.D. degree awarded in regular mode are exempt from NET, provided they meet specific conditions (see detailed advertisement on the university website for UGC compliance details).

  • A Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or allied fields.

Pay Scale / Remuneration

The position offers a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 1,500 per lecture, subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs. 50,000 per month.
