Title of the Project: Integrated Cryospheric Observations and Associated Hazards in Changing Climate, Central Himalaya

Duration of Appointment: The appointment is purely temporary and will terminate automatically without any notice of termination of the project.
Qualification:
- Project Scientist I: The candidate should be M. Sc. in Geology/ Applied Geology/ Remote Sensing and GIS Applications/ Environment Science and Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject. Candidate having experience on field work on tough glaciated Himalayan terrain, interpretation and analysis of Remote Sensing data, and modeling of climatic and other data will be preferred.
- Project Scientist II: The candidate should be M. Sc. in Geology/ Applied Geology/Remote Sensing and GIS Applications/ Environment Science and Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject. Three years’ experience in research and development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services evidence by publications in SCI Journals. Preference will be given to those applicants who have conducted glaciological study in high altitudinal areas and handled various instruments like DGPS, GPR, Total Station
along with working knowledge of GIS. - Junior Research Fellow: Master’s Degree in Geology/Applied Geology/ Remote Sensing and GIS Applications with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade. Valid GATE/NET/ any National test conducted by central government
departments and their agencies. (In case of non-availability of GATE/ NET candidate, student having P.G. degree in the above-mentioned subjects may be considered and the fellowship will be given as per DST norms. - Project Assistant: B.Sc. (Physics, Maths, Geology). Knowledge of computer is essential. Candidates having Master’s degree in Geology/ Remote sensing and GIS/ Environment Science may also apply.
Remuneration:
- Project Scientist I: Rs. 56,000/- + 9% HRA
- Project Scientist II: Rs. 67,000/- + 9% HRA
- Junior Research Fellow: Rs. 37,000/- + 9% HRA
- Project Assistant: Rs. 20,000/- + 9% HRA
