Role Overview
The Professor of Nursing will provide academic leadership in the assigned specialty, ensuring excellence in teaching, clinical training, research, and institutional governance, in compliance with Indian Nursing Council (INC) and University regulations. The role involves mentoring faculty, guiding research, and supporting accreditation and inspections.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership & Teaching

Lead advanced theory and practical teaching for B.Sc. Nursing and GNM programmes

Plan academic calendars, course structures, and teaching strategies

Ensure effective implementation of INC-prescribed curriculum and teaching hours
-
Evaluate student performance through internal assessments, practicals, and examinations
Research & Scholarly Activities
-
Guide M.Sc. Nursing dissertations and research projects
-
Promote research culture, publications, and evidence-based nursing practices
-
Participate and present in national and international conferences, seminars, and CNE programmes
Faculty Mentorship & Development
-
Mentor Tutors, Assistant Professors, and Associate Professors
-
Support faculty development, teaching innovation, and performance improvement

Assist in faculty recruitment, orientation, and appraisal
Clinical & Professional Oversight
-
Oversee clinical teaching and coordination with affiliated hospitals and community health centers

Ensure maintenance of clinical records, logbooks, and quality standards
Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities

Assist the Principal during INC inspections, University audits, and accreditations

Maintain academic documentation, departmental reports, and statutory records

Participate in institutional committees and academic councils
Student Mentoring & Governance

Provide academic and professional mentoring to students
