About the Position
The Administrative Associate (Library) will work with the Librarian and support the delivery of library and information services to faculty members, students, and other stakeholders of the institute.
The position involves both technical library operations and user-support activities, including cataloguing, classification, circulation management, research-query assistance, electronic-resource access, inventory management, and library upkeep.
Essential Qualification
Candidates should possess:
- Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc) or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum three years of relevant experience in an academic institution of repute.
Job Responsibilities
The selected Administrative Associate (Library) will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Librarian in providing library and information services to faculty, students, and other stakeholders.
- Carrying out cataloguing, classification, and other technical processing of library resources.
- Managing the circulation counter, including membership, circulation, reminders, overdue charges, and related day-to-day activities.
- Using online and offline databases and e-resources to respond to research queries.
- Assisting users in accessing library resources and services.
- Maintaining inventories, registers, statistics, and other library-related records.
- Monitoring the maintenance and upkeep of the library.
Salary / Stipend Details
Selected candidates will receive a monthly remuneration of:
₹40,000 – ₹45,000 per month
In case of re-engagement, an annual increment of ₹3,000 may be provided.
Age Limit
The candidate should preferably be below 45 years of age.
The advertisement uses “preferably,” so this should not be interpreted as an absolute upper-age cutoff without reference to the complete notification.
Contract Duration
The appointment will be made on a purely contractual basis.
- The initial appointment will be for one year from the date of joining.
- The contract may be renewed annually depending on satisfactory performance and the requirements of the institute.
- The total engagement will generally be limited to three years.
