Essential Qualification: The applicants must be Indian nationals with a PhD degree in Physical Chemistry, Physics and Materials Science from a recognized institute / university in India or abroad and an excellent track record and publications /patents in a research area relevant to the sponsored project.

Desirable Qualification: Good knowledge in sensor, 2/3 electrode device fabrication, electrical characterization techniques, electro-chemical characterization techniques, electrospinning techniques, 3D printing, microscopy, spectroscopy, and surface characterization techniques are some of the desirables for the candidate. Candidates with a good background in solid state, material science and condensed matter physics will have preference.

Project Post-Doctoral Fellow Position at Center for Nanoscience, IIT  Kanpur

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher in the interdisciplinary area of material science and chemistry in developing sensors for technical textiles. The researcher is expected to develop electrical sensors using composite textiles that are capable of sensing physiological changes in humans and sensing chemical/biological contaminants.

Other criteria: Candidate who has submitted her/his PhD thesis is also eligible to apply. However, she/he is expected to successfully defend the PhD thesis within three months from the date of their joining (if selected).

Salary: Each appointment will be made initially for a period of one year and may be extended for a second or third year subject to satisfactory performance. The consolidated fellowship amount will be Rs. 60,000/- per month for the first and second year, and Rs. 65,000/- per month for the third year.
