Indian Maritime University (IMU) was established through an Act of Parliament (Act 22) on 14 November 2008 as a Central University. The university plays a vital role in developing trained human resources for the maritime sector in India.
The establishment of IMU fulfilled a long-standing aspiration of the maritime community to create a dedicated institution for maritime education, research, and training. Every year 14 November is celebrated as IMU Day.

AECS and TSTA Course Certificate or willingness to complete the course

MEO Class-I (Motor) Certificate of Competency issued by Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India

Minimum 6 months sailing experience at Management level as per STCW Convention
