Project Title:
“Study on Efficiency of Agriculture and Rural Development Banks: A Comparison of Different Institutional Structures”
The research project aims to evaluate the efficiency and performance of State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Banks (SCARDBs) and Primary Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Banks (PCARDBs) across Gujarat, Kerala, and West Bengal, and develop evidence-based recommendations for strengthening India’s rural cooperative credit system.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should possess:
- Postgraduate Degree in any Social Science discipline.
- Minimum 55% marks in the qualifying examination.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- NET qualification
- M.Phil.
- Ph.D.
Desirable Skills
Candidates with the following skills will be preferred:
- Research methodology and survey techniques
- Data collection and statistical analysis
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Knowledge of SPSS, STATA, or R
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Knowledge of relevant regional languages
- Willingness to travel extensively for fieldwork
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Collecting financial and operational data from cooperative banks
- Conducting surveys with borrowing and non-borrowing members
- Interviewing bank officials and stakeholders
- Managing quantitative and qualitative datasets
- Supporting data analysis and report writing
- Undertaking field visits across Gujarat, Kerala, and West Bengal
Salary
- Up to ₹37,000 per month (Consolidated)
The remuneration will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
Tenure
- Initial appointment for one year
- May be extended based on project requirements, performance, and funding availability
