Project Overview

This research project focuses on the computational modeling and numerical simulation of the Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) process. The goal is to optimize the growth of high-efficiency III-V semiconductor thin films, which are critical for next-generation solar cell applications. The JRF will work on developing and implementing models to understand fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and chemical reaction kinetics within the MOCVD reactor to enhance film quality and performance.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Postgraduate (PG) Degree in Basic Science (Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science) OR

  • Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or any related professional course.

  • AND, the candidate must have been selected through a national-level examination, such as:

    • CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship)

    • GATE

    • A national examination conducted by Central Government agencies (DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc.)

Desired Qualifications & Skills

  • Essential: Experience with CAD software and a solid understanding of chemical reaction kinetics.

  • Highly Desired: Prior hands-on experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software packages (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL Multiphysics).

  • Strong scientific writing and presentation skills are required for reporting results and publishing findings.

  • A keen interest in computational mechanics, semiconductor physics, and renewable energy technologies.
