Project Overview

This SERB-funded research project is at the forefront of organic synthesis, focusing on developing novel photoredox-catalyzed methods for synthesizing C-aryl/heteroaryl glycosides. The work involves innovative homolysis of glycosyl C-O bonds and has direct applications in the total synthesis of complex natural products like the Neopetrosine Alkaloids (A-D), which are of significant interest in medicinal chemistry.

Essential Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in Chemistry with a First Class OR a minimum of 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale if the class is not awarded).

  • valid qualification in either GATE or the CSIR-UGC NET (for Assistant Professorship/JRF).

Desirable Qualification

  • Hands-on experience in Organic Synthesis gained through a research project, dissertation, or previous work experience.

  • A strong foundational knowledge of modern synthetic techniques and reaction mechanisms.

Fellowship

  • Consolidated Pay: ₹37,000 per month (as per SERB norms).
