Job Description

1.THE POST OF PRINCIPAL, PGDM ON CONTRACT BASIS

National Insurance Academy (NIA) Pune, an apex educational, training and research institute in the field of Insurance, Pension and Management, established under the aegis of Ministry of Finance, Government of India and Public Sector Insurance Companies, offers AICTE approved two-year, residential, Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) which recognized as equivalent to Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. NIA also conducts Management Development Programmes (MDP) for the executives of national and foreign organizations from Insurance and related fields.

2.FACULTY MEMBERS (LIFE INSURANCE) ON CONTRACT BASIS

Applications invited from the eligible Retired Officers &  Officers who retired before 1st May 2025 from the Life Insurance Industry (public/private) for considering selection to the following position on contract basis

3.POST OF PUBLICATION ASSISTANT

The Academy invites applications from interested persons to fill up the position of Publication Assistant in the cadre of Senior Associate. The incumbent shall supervise, manage and direct all the work related to printing & publicity and shall also be In-charge of the Reprography Dept. of the Academy. The incumbent shall report to the Director / Chief Administrator.

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential:

1.POST OF PRINCIPAL, PGDM ON CONTRACT BASIS

First equivalent in Masters Degree in Business Administration or equivalent and Ph.D. or equivalent, in appropriate discipline. Post Ph.D. publications and guiding Ph.D. students is desirable.

Minimum of 15 years’ experience in teaching / Research / Industry out of which at least 3 years shall be at the level of Professor.

Preferred Experience:

• 1-3 years’ experience as Principal of a management institute.
• As Professor, should have experience of pro-active participation in various committees, e.g. Placement Committee, Academic Council, Board of Studies, IQAC, etc.

 If the experience in industry considered, the same shall be at managerial level equivalent to Professor level with active participation record in devising / designing, developing, planning, executing, analyzing, quality control, innovating, training, technical books / research paper publications / IPR / patents, etc. as deemed fit by the expert members of the Search-cum Selection committee. Flair for Management and Leadership is essential.

Scale of Pay: As per CFTI norms, in the pay matrix level (PB 14A) of Rs. 159100-220200/- (Basic + D.A.). The pay will fixed based on the qualification, experience and last drawn pay of the selected candidate. Higher pay may considered in case of highly meritorious candidate at the discretion of NIA.

• Leave Travel Concession as per Central Government Rules.
• Consultancy projects may be assigned as per NIA rules.
• Health Insurance under Group Mediclaim Policy will be as per NIA Rules • Reimbursement of Domiciliary medical expenses, Rs.12,000/- p.a.

  2.THE POST OF FACULTY MEMBERS  (Life Insurance) on contract

• Post-graduate • Associate / Fellowship of Insurance Institute of India or equivalent.

  Age: Less than 62 years of age as on 1st May 2025

 Professional/Work Experience: Minimum 25 years working experience in Life Insurance Corporation of India or any of the private life insurance companies and must have worked in operational areas and /or technical areas and retired from Sr.DM/ZM/ED cadres or equivalent positions in any of the private life insurance companies in India

 Interest/Attributes:

• Interest and demonstrated evidence in training/teaching/research/ and project works.
• Candidates must have a flair for Academic work
• Preference will be given to those candidates who have worked in training/learning and development verticals

 Salary: A consolidated salary of Rs.1,50,000/- plus Rs.30,000/- towards house rent per month. Accommodation may be provided at NIA Campus subject to availability and policy provisions; in such case Rs.30,000/- towards house rent will not be paid.

 The position will report to the Chair Professor (Life Insurance)

3.THE POST OF PUBLICATION ASSISTANT

Graduation with Diploma in Printing Technology / Graphic Designing

 Preferred (if applicable):

• Should have excellent communication skills and good command over the English language
• Should be able to independently use graphic software such as CorelDraw, Photoshop etc. • Should possess good analytical and problem-solving skills and a creative mindset.

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience of working in a similar cadre in the above field.

Age: Minimum 35 years – maximum 40 years. Can be relaxed in case of exceptional, deserving candidates with commensurate exposure.

Salary: Pay Matrix Level 6 (Rs. 35400- 112400) as per 7th CPC Gross Emoluments, including HRA, is approx. Rs. 70,290/-
