Project Overview
This research project is an exciting interdisciplinary endeavor at the intersection of archaeology and earth sciences. It focuses on applying advanced geochronological and geoarchaeological techniques to date and analyze Palaeolithic sites in Southeast Andhra Pradesh. The work will involve field sampling, sophisticated laboratory analysis, and the interpretation of data to contribute significantly to our understanding of early human history and paleoenvironments in the region.
Essential Qualifications

A M.A. or M.Sc. degree in Archaeology, Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology, or a closely related field from a recognized university/institution.

A strong and consistent academic record with a minimum of 60% marks (or an equivalent grade) from the undergraduate level onwards.

A minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent) in both 10th and 12th standard examinations.

Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to write reports independently and collaborate effectively on research tasks.
Desirable Skills & Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with relevant post-degree research or laboratory experience.

Hands-on experience in:

Sample preparation for geological/archaeological analysis.

Standard laboratory procedures and safety protocols.

Operating relevant scientific equipment (e.g., for sedimentology, microscopy).

Using specialized software for data analysis.

Proven ability to interpret analytical results and contribute to scientific findings.
Job Responsibilities

Prepare archaeological and geological samples for various analyses.

Conduct laboratory-based procedures and operate scientific instruments.

Process, analyze, and interpret geochronological and geoarchaeological data.

Contribute to fieldwork, including site surveying and sample collection.

Prepare detailed reports and research documentation.

Collaborate effectively with the research team and contribute to publications.
Fellowship Details
-
Consolidated Salary: ₹45,000 to ₹70,000 per month, based on qualifications and experience.

Duration: The initial appointment is for one year, which is extendable for another year based on satisfactory performance.
