Department Overview

The position is hosted by the Department of Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering, a pioneer in the fields of electronics, photonics, and communication technologies, known for its advanced research and state-of-the-art laboratories.

Project Overview

This research project, “RASPAC,” focuses on pioneering the development of advanced photonic architectures for quantum computing. It explores both heterogeneous and monolithic approaches to create reconfigurable and scalable photonic qubit systems, a critical frontier in quantum information science.

Essential Qualifications

Option A:

  • A Ph.D. awarded or thesis submitted in Photonic Technologies, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Nano Science and Nano Technology, or Physics with a dedicated focus on optics & photonics.

Option B:

  • An M.Tech./M.E. in ECE, EE, CS, Photonics, Engineering Physics, Nanoscience, Quantum Technology, or a closely related field.

  • Plus, a minimum of 6 years of experience in research, teaching, and design & development post-M.Tech.

  • Plus, at least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.

Relevant Experience Required

Candidates must have demonstrable experience and a strong background in nonlinear photonics and/or quantum photonics.

Pay Scale / Fellowship

The monthly fellowship will be determined based on the candidate’s post-qualification experience:

  • Fresh Ph.D. (Awarded/Submitted): ₹58,000 per month

  • Post-Ph.D. experience of 1 year: ₹61,000 per month

  • Post-Ph.D. experience of 2 years: ₹67,000 per month

  • M.Tech. with 6+ years of experience: As per eligibility, up to ₹67,000 per month.

Age Limit

  • Maximum 35 years as of the last date of application.

  • Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules for candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories and female applicants.
