Organization Profile

Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat was established in 1961 as a Regional Engineering College (REC). Over the years, the institute expanded its academic offerings across multiple engineering disciplines.

In December 2002, the institute was declared a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, and later, on 15 August 2007, it was accorded the prestigious status of an Institute of National Importance.

Currently, SVNIT offers six Undergraduate programmes, nineteen Postgraduate programmes, integrated M.Sc. programmes, and doctoral programmes across all major engineering branches.

Qualification & Experience

Option 1 – Master’s Degree:

  • First Class or equivalent CGPA (minimum 6.5/10) in M.Tech. / M.E.

  • First Class or equivalent CGPA (minimum 6.5/10) in B.Tech. / B.E.

  • Good academic record

Option 2 – Ph.D.:

  • Ph.D. in the appropriate branch

  • First Class or equivalent CGPA (minimum 6.5/10) in both B.Tech. / B.E. and M.Tech. / M.E.

  • Good academic record

Pay Scale

  • ₹45,000/- per month – Master’s Degree holders

  • ₹60,000/- per month – Ph.D. Degree holders
